At Tyrone’s Cosmetology Centre, students can now pursue internationally accredited City & Guilds courses, giving them the skills and credentials to work not only in Zimbabwe, but abroad as well - including opportunities in the UK and UAE. City & Guilds is a UK-based global leader in vocational education and skills development. Their qualifications are recognized in over 80 countries, including Zimbabwe, and are highly respected in industries like hairdressing, beauty therapy, and cosmetology.

Tyrone’s Cosmetology Centre offers a wide range of courses in hairdressing, cosmetology, and beauty therapy. Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to upgrade specific skills, we have a course for you.

Manicure & Pedicure

Learn professional nail care for hands and feet, including cleaning, filing, buffing, polishing, and hand/foot massage techniques. Create healthy, beautiful nails and a relaxing spa experience for clients.

Nail Technology

Master advanced nail enhancement techniques such as acrylic and gel nail application, tips and overlays, nail art, and proper use of professional nail tools. Perfect for those who want to become expert nail technicians.

Facials & Skin Care

Understand skin types and conditions and learn how to perform deep-cleansing facials, exfoliation, steaming, mask treatments, and skin toning. Gain skills in basic dermatological care to help clients achieve a radiant complexion.

Makeup Artistry

Dive into the art of makeup for every occasion. This course covers daytime and evening looks, bridal makeup, contouring and highlighting, color theory, and hygienic application practices. Unleash your creativity and learn to accentuate every client’s natural beauty.

Eyelash Extensions

Train in the application of semi-permanent eyelash extensions and lash lifts. You’ll practice safe and precise techniques to enhance clients’ eyelashes for a fuller, longer look, as well as learn about lash care and removal.

Waxing & Hair Removal

Become proficient in professional waxing techniques for the face and body. This includes learning how to safely remove hair using hot and cold wax, prepping and after-care of skin, and maintaining hygienic practices throughout.

Massage Therapy

Learn the foundations of therapeutic massage for wellness and relaxation. This course teaches body anatomy basics, various massage strokes (like Swedish massage), pressure points, and how to create a soothing client experience.

Hairdressing

Our signature hairdressing program covers everything from cutting and coloring to styling and hair care. Practice modern hair cutting techniques, creative coloring (dyes, highlights), chemical treatments (relaxers, perms), and create various hairstyles for different occasions. You’ll gain the confidence to work in or run a professional salon.

Braiding

Explore traditional and contemporary braiding styles. From classic three-strand braids and cornrows to intricate twists and dreadlocks, you’ll learn how to braid with speed and precision. This course emphasizes neat technique and scalp care for braided hairstyles.

Weaving & Extensions

Learn to add length and volume to hair through weaving techniques. This includes sewing in weaves, bondings, and working with a variety of hair extensions. You’ll practice blending extensions for a natural look and proper maintenance advice for clients.

We welcome beginners and experienced individuals alike. No prior experience or formal qualifications are required for most courses – just a genuine interest in beauty and a willingness to learn.

Do I need any prior experience or qualifications to enroll?
No prior experience is required for most courses. Our programs are designed for beginners as well as those with some background. We start with the basics and guide you step by step. All you need is a passion for beauty and the willingness to learn.
How long are your courses, and do you offer part-time options?
Course durations vary. Short courses (focusing on one skill like Makeup or Nail Technology) might last a few weeks, while comprehensive programs (like a full Cosmetology or Hairdressing diploma) can run several months to a year or more. We do offer flexible schedules – some classes meet during weekdays, and others may have weekend or evening sessions for part-time students. When you contact us or visit to enroll, we’ll share the timetable options for the specific course you’re interested in.
Will I get a certificate when I finish the course?
Yes! Upon successful completion of each course, you will receive a certificate from Tyrone’s Cosmetology Centre. For our longer programs, you can earn an official Diploma. Our certificates and diplomas are well-regarded in Zimbabwe’s beauty industry. They prove that you’ve been trained and tested in your skills, which can help you when applying for jobs or starting your own business.
What are the course fees, and do you offer payment plans?
Course fees depend on the program and its duration. We strive to keep our tuition affordable and competitive. In many cases, we do allow payment in installments to make it easier for students to manage financially. When you get in touch with us, we’ll provide a detailed fee schedule for the course you’re interested in, including any available payment plan options.
When can I start?
We have multiple intakes throughout the year. Enrolment is currently open for the next session. It’s best to register as soon as possible to secure your spot in the upcoming classes. If you miss an intake, don’t worry – you can join the following one. We’ll let you know all the important dates (course start dates, registration deadlines, etc.) when you contact us.
